Tara grew up in Frederick, Maryland, and moved to New York to go to New York University Tisch School of the Arts where she got her BFA in Drama through The Atlantic Acting School and The New Studio on Broadway for Musical Theatre. Aside from acting, singing, and dancing, she is also a choreographer and writer.
Select performing credits include: the first production of the new play Mother Mary at Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Waitress at A.C.T. of Connecticut, The Cake at Prologue Theatre and NextStop Theatre, Guys and Dolls at The Ford’s Theatre (also Associate Choreographer), Guys and Dolls at The Guthrie Theatre (also Assistant Choreographer), and Bright Star at The Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis.
Tara’s Associate Choreography work has also been seen Off-Broadway in Irish Repertory Theatre’s On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. She has choreographed seven musical theatre productions at NYU Tisch School of The Arts’ New Studio on Broadway and is adjunct to the Jazz Dance faculty.
She recently received her MFA in Writing and Producing for Television through the TV Writers Studio at Long Island University, and had her writing commissioned for Syracuse University’s Tepper Semester students.
Tara is excited to work with both young artists in the beginning of their careers, and anyone looking to level up. She is particularly passionate about encouraging students who find dance intimidating to find confidence and joy in storytelling through movement.
